To promote the performing arts in music in Malaysia consistent with the development of a cultured and sophisticated Malaysian society yet caring for the needs of the disadvantaged in its midst.
The musically talented in the midst of Malaysian society rarely have non-commercial avenues to showcase their abilities for the benefit of their own personal development and for audiences who appreciate their art.
The Camerata dell’Arte of Kuala Lumpur is an informal network of individuals which has since 1998 provided a platform for musical talents to develop, progress and to establish a camaraderie among themselves and their supporters and to make a significant contribution to the disadvantaged in society through its performance events and various activities. The network is informal and open to all music teachers, students, parents, friends, enthusiasts and supporters of the music and related performing arts.
The network’s activities focus on the development of musical talents through programmes of classes, courses, presentations, workshops, recitals, concerts and performances. Information on the development of the musical arts and its performances will be disseminated through its website, newsletters, the media and various promotional activities held in conjunction with appropriate events. The network is non-profit in objective and surpluses from its income-generating activities will be donated towards the disadvantaged.
The network has embarked on a two-prong strategy to achieve its objectives:
(A) Developing Musical Talent
Providing an avenue for musical talents to develop through a programme of educational activities is the core activity on which the network rests upon. Emphasis is laid on providing opportunities for all and sundry so that the truly talented may emerge to be fully nurtured, groomed and prepared for the national and world stage;
(B) Organising Events and Disseminating Information On The Musical and Related Performing Arts
Providing information and opportunities to experience the musical arts for the benefit of segments of society which appreciate music represent the other core activity of the network. Musical talent without an appreciative audience is meaningless and in this sense, an appreciation of music and related arts needs to be nurtured among the community at large through a programme of public recitals, concerts, performances and through channels such as exhibitions, roadshows, newsletters, the mass media, internet websites and other promotional activities.
The signature activity of the network is conducted regularly as a means of widening the appreciation for good music including concert attendance etiquette
